Starfish Aquatic Institute Courses

Starfish Aquatic Institute (SAI) training is a 30-hour course. A $10.00 non-refundable deposit/class fee is required. Pre-screening class/test is required prior to taking this course. Looking for a fun and rewarding job? Become a Swim Instructor at Cottonwood Heights Parks and Recreation Center (CHRC)! Not only will you teach kids a life-saving skill, but you’ll also build confidence, make new friends, and gain leadership experience—all while getting paid!

Our Swim Instructor Training Class will prepare you for success, covering everything from swim lesson techniques to CPR certification. Participants MUST be 14 years old by the last day of class to be a swim instructor aide and 15 years old by the last day of class to be a swim instructor.

Swim Instructor Training Class at Cottonwood Heights, May 5-9, 4-8 PM. Includes interviews, online and in-person sessions. Cost: $75.

 

 

Lifeguard Training Courses (American Red Cross)

Lifeguard Training course includes First Aid and CPR. Pre-screening is required to take this course. To prepare for the pre-screen, please regularly swim 300m, tread water without hands for 2 minutes, and practice diving to the bottom of a 14 foot pool. Participants must be 15 years of age or older by the last day of this class to take course. Participants not working at CHRC following the completion of class will be required to pay $50 upon receiving the Red Cross certificate.
